SCHEFLOW FOR KANE 22
Thank you for your support!
An Open Letter to the Residents of Kane County,
I am writing to thank all of the voters in Kane County Board District 22 (part of the West side of Elgin) and my opponent Bob Getz, Trustee of Elgin Community College District 509, for a close campaign that ended with a very narrow 13-vote margin of victory in my favor. Bob and I have pledged to work together in the future. I also want to thank the many people who helped with my campaign and provided support in many ways, including my family and friends, old and new.
In my campaign, I ran as a “taxpayers’ watch dog” that will review the budget, line-by-line. My opponent, Mr. Getz ran as a “tax cutter” who has voted against tax increases at the Elgin Community College. It is clear to me that the voters of District 22 have spoken in favor of lower taxes and particularly lower real estate taxes.
My plan is to work to reduce real estate and other taxes, where feasible. I encourage other taxing bodies in Kane County to work toward lower real estate taxes. To succeed, I will need to make some difficult votes and this will not be without dissatisfaction by some.
It is my hope that the residents of Kane County will do what they can to support this effort.
